About Our Ministry

Elijah House is a prophetic and inner healing ministry founded in the 1970’s by John and Paula Sandford.

The mandate of the ministry, based on Malachi 4:5-6 and Matthew 17:11, is to turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers so as to pave the way for restoration.

To this end, the focus of our ministry has been to heal the hearts of God’s people through prayer ministry and to equip others to do the same.

However, Elijah House is not just about counselling and inner healing; it is also about raising up a sanctified prophetic people with a clear grasp of the End-Times message of repentance to prepare the way for restoration and the coming of our King.

In Singapore, Elijah House is run by a group of volunteers from various walks of life.

We have been working and walking in fellowship with Elijah House USA and other international Elijah Houses for many years.

Since 2008, we have been conducting regular schools of inner healing in Singapore as well as provide prayer ministry by appointment.

Our volunteers also participate in missions trips, bringing the message of Malachi 4:5-6 and Matthew 17:11 to those we serve and equipping them to minister to others.

Elijah House Statement of Faith

We believe in the simple orthodoxy of the Christian faith, as summarized by the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only-begotten Son of God the Father. He died on the cross for our redemption, was raised again, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He has given us His Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit that we might serve Him and His Kingdom. We believe we are called to be faithful members of a Trinitarian Church, regularly attending worship and submitted under the care and covering of pastors and elders. We believe that the mission of the Church is all-important - to evangelize, teach and heal until He returns, preparing God's children to live and fellowship with the Trinity throughout eternity. In response to the dual mandates of Malachi 4:5-6 and Matthew 17:11, we are called to be God's instruments to write, teach and do prayer ministry. We believe all teaching and healing should be an expression of the love and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ. Neither teaching nor healing is something we do; it is the work of the Holy Spirit through us. Elijah House is called to help equip the Church (Ephesians 4:12) as His instrument for the sanctification and transformation of God's children, until the Church stands in unity of faith and purpose, prepared as the Bride of Christ, for His return.

Our Conducted Schools

Vision

In keeping with the Elijah House mission to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers (Malachi 4:5-6), our vision for the schools is to equip, encourage, and release ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:18-20). As His ambassadors, the Holy Spirit works through us to restore broken, hurting hearts, and to reconcile relationships. In prayerfully planned instructional and ministry settings, we provide "keys of knowledge" that renew the mind and sow truth in the heart, resulting in life transformation, preparing students for ministry and service to God and others.

Goals

To provide students with a clear view of Christ-centered Inner Healing (a means toward sanctification and transformation) and its foundations in Scripture.

To teach, model and provide opportunity to practice:

  • Ministry to one another according to the Word of God, in the power and sensitivity of Christ through His Holy Spirit
  • Bringing to death on the Cross and bringing to life in Christ, as fundamental elements of the healing process
  • Prayer in inner healing ministry
  • Applying the essential scriptural elements of inner healing: confession, forgiveness and repentance
  • Recognizing and understanding common problems and patterns of difficulty in people's lives, and identifying wounds and roots of bitterness (tracking from fruit to root)
  • Listening and discerning the Holy Spirit's direction in healing ministry
  • Basic ministry skills: interviewing, active listening, prayer and small group dynamics
  • Sharing God's unconditional love in healing relationships

To offer students the opportunity to experience personal healing through small group ministry with their peers (and in other settings, as the Lord leads) in order to prepare students for ministry to others.

To provide a safe setting for learning, ministry and building relationships
