School 1 General Information

Character Referees

As part of School 1 registration process, registrants are required to required to nominate two Character Referees. The first has to be a spiritual leader such as your pastor, ministry leader or cell group leader while the other may be anyone who has known you for more than a year. The registration form will request their names, email addresses and mobile numbers. You may want to prepare these details before you begin your registration.

Upon submission of the registration form, an automated email with a unique link to the online Character Reference Form will be sent to each of them.

Those who have participated in School 1 in previous years (alumni) and are registering to participate for subsequent Schools will NOT be required to nominate Character Referees.

Small Group Participation

At Elijah House, we believe that God heals our brokenness through the body of Christ and this principle is embodied in the school by the small group ministry. As part of the training, all participants will be assigned to small groups, and are required to take part in the small group sessions.

Each participant will take turns to play the roles of Seeker (receiving ministry) and Prayer Minister (performing ministry), to provide and receive prayer ministry to/from each other.

Before any group ministry session, there will be lessons to equip participants for the roles. The facilitators will also guide closely in all ministry sessions. But each participant must also be willing to step out of their comfort zone and practise what is taught, within the community, so as to reinforce the learning and growth.

We strongly discourage you choosing to limit your experience to just receiving ministry, as one's healing comes also through looking beyond one's own brokenness & struggles to give love and ministry to others, regardless of how broken or inadequate one may feel/be.

The grouping arrangement will be solely decided by the school organizers. In line with our belief that healing is relational and flows through the Body of Christ, each group will consist of a mix of participants across different age groups and genders as much as possible.

Participants who are familiar with one another (eg. family members, friends and cell group members) will be placed in different groups to ensure confidentiality and minimize conflict of interest.

Commitment & Expectation

This is a training school and for successful completion, each participant is expected to:

1. Complete at least 90% of the schedule as detailed above.
2. Commit to participating in their small groups as Seeker and Prayer Minister. Refer to the previous subsection for more details.

Each participant is expected to make the necessary arrangements pertaining to their day job (i.e. take necessary leave), as well as family commitments (i.e. arrange necessary child/elderly care) to be present for ideally 100% of the onsite session and retreat.

A participant's successful completion of this school will be determined by his/her overall attendance, and participation in the small group sessions. NOTE: This is a prerequisite to be accepted for School II & III in the future.

As places are limited, we will prioritise admitting participants who will commit fully to the above.
